Spirit airlines is THE WORST airline I’ve EVER delt with!!! I’m having the worst experience right now. I have a conference in San Diego and am traveling to California with my 4 year old baby and my wife.
I took a 706 Spirit direct flight from Detroit to LA on November 10th at 6:15 am. I happily checked in two baggages around 5:10am, and arrived in LA after flying for about 4 and a half hours.
However, one of the two baggage checked in did not come. That hadn’t been on a plane. I couldn’t understand that one of the two baggage did not follow, but the baggage claim staff reassured me that would follow me on the next flight, so I made a claim to pick him up at the airport. I left the airport with such a feeling of embarrassment and digested the schedule for the day.
I didn’t get a call at that time, but just in case, I visited the SPIRIT baggage claim at LA airport at 12:30 a.m., after 11:30 p.m. when the next flight arrived, but my bag didn’t arrive.
As of November 16, six days later, the baggage has not been tracked at all.
After the San Diego SfN Conference, my family is taking the Delta back to Detroit today. The SPIRIT airline computer and employees are giving the automatic answer.
All chats on baggy claims are unanswered, Facebook chat staff are reading their policies. We spent 4-5 hours of useless shopping to buy clothes for 6 days, a toothbrush and basic things. And throughout the trip and the conference, I couldn’t handle the proper schedule because of worrying about my bag. Where the hell is my bag?
Inside the bag are a small Chanel bag my wife bought on a trip to France 10 years ago, my Lindberg glasses my wife bought on our honeymoon in Italy 5 years ago, Van Cleef & Arpels Alhambra earrings we bought in Chicago 2 years ago, Dyson air wrap, and three of my favorite everyday clothes and a suit I would wear at a conference. It contains all the memories of the 7 days, such as clothes and underwear.
I still don’t understand. 4 hours direct flight… I didn’t check in in a hurry (?), but one of the two bags was lost.
Did the SPIRIT staff steal it? Was it stolen by an employee while going through security? Was it on a completely different plane? Was it lost at the airport after that? Or are it just hanging out at the Detroit airport without getting on the plane itself?
My last hope is to return to Detroit today and visit Lost & Found to find out.
Please, I hope it come out wherever it is. My biggest and smallest mistake was believing in SPIRIT without any doubt.
